It is regular DOT4 brake fluid (just with a higher boiling point than is required by the spec), so once I convinced Tesla of that they said it was no problem to use it. However, they wouldn’t put it in for me, so I had to find a PrecisionTune that would do the brake flush using fluid I supplied (I didn’t have the time to fool with it myself).

On my last track outing, I measured the front rotors at 560F after a session, so they get plenty hot when driven hard (slowing 4800lb from 118-35 is a lot of energy :).

Tesla does not have an issue with it though, right ? I checked the manual, and they say don’t do it yourself, but at the same time they don’t say it voids warranty like it does for battery coolant.
