The link (http://www.pacw.org/fileadmin/doc/SpringIssue09/news_tech_spring09.pdf) points to a 2009 article indicating Levant’s prototype could deliver between 500 and 1000 W per regenerative shock absorber while travelling on a ‘standard highway’. While those tests were carried out using a Humvee, I would not be surprised if the 2014 production version could produce something close to that with a vehicle weighing as much as the Model-S. Sounds like useful power to me, even if it only powers the electronics. I would love to know if Tesla are considering this system.
